ALINSKY-OBAMA—PART 3

In watch Obama over the past 4+ years, the moves he’s made. His believes, his world “American is the problem” tours, his executive orders, his treatment of the American people and in particular the constitution. His favoring the Muslim brotherhood over Israel. And of special note is his anti-capitalism, class warfare, redistribution, entitlements all reminded me of a book I’ve read entitled “RULES FOR RADICALS” by the head radical SAUL ALINSKY.

I have taken the time to summarize this book into “bullet points” which I would like to share with you and see if you come to the same conclusion, that our President just might be from this model. Please read it as I will be posting them by positions Alinsky describes in his book.

PART 3—POWER-EGO-EDUCATION-COMMUNICATION:

WORDS/POWER/COMPROMISE/EGO:
The word power is associated with conflict. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. To know power and not fear it is essential to its constructive use and control. In short life without power is death: a world without power would be ghostly wasteland, a dead planet.
To question the force of self-interest that pervades all areas of political life is to refuse to see man as he is, to see him only as we would like him to be.
“We do not care what kind of communist you are so long as you do not threaten our self-interest”. Communism itself is irrelevant; the issue is whether they are on our side or yours.
A society devoid of compromise is totalitarian. If I had to define a free and open society in one word the word would be compromise.
Your leader is always flexible, he has pride in the dignity of his cause, he is unflinching, sincere and ingenious tactician fighting the good fight. And he will do anything to win; he is leading the forces of evil. Anyone who is working against the Haves is always facing odds. Nothing antagonizes people and alienates them form a would be organizer more than revealing flashes of arrogance, vanity, impatience and contempt of personal egotism. The ego of the organizer is stronger and more monumental than the ego to the leader; the organizer wants to create the leader wants power!
The personality of the organizer is contagious, that it converts the people from despair to defiance, creating a mass ego.

THE EDUCATION OF AN ORGANIZER:
Alinsky states that an organizer must have special training and schooling for organizers with a full time, 15-month program. He says labor union organizers turned out to be poor community organizers as their experience was tied to a pattern of fixed points. In other words the old ways. The union guys organize to get rid of 4 legged rates and stop there, we organize to get rid of 4 legged rats so we can get on to removing the 2 legged rats. An organizer can communicate only within the areas of experience of his audience. The organizer will err far less by being himself than by engaging in professional techniques when the people really know better. He must be able to spot the negatives and it is impossible to develop that quality or be taught that.
Any good organizer should have the following:
CURIOSITY—driven by it. No answers just further questions. The function is to raise questions that agitate, that break through the accepted pattern.
IRREVERENCE—there’s not just because it’s always been that way, nothing is sacred.
IMAGINATION—it starts with the notion of mental imagine of things suggested but not previously experienced.
AN ORGAINZED PERSONALITY—must be well organized himself. Should know and accept that the right reason is only introduced as a moral rationalization after the right end has been achieved. Lets make a deal
: I’ll support you for what you want and your support me for what I want. Those deals become the program. He is sensitive to everything around him. Before men can act an issue must be polarized, there can be no action until issues are polarized to this degree.
EGO—is unreserved confidence in one’s ability do what he believes must be done. An organizer must accept that the odds are always against him.
A FREE AND OPEN MIND—he know that all new ideas arise from conflict. He wants power but the organizer finds his goal in creation of power for other to use.

COMMUNICATION:
Exception is the art of communication. Is when they understand what you’re trying to get across to them? When you go outside anyone’s experience not only do you not communicate, you cause confusion. Communication for persuasion, as in negotiation is more than entering the area of another persons experience; it is getting a fix on this main value or goal and holding you course on that target. You don’t communicate with anyone purely on the rational facts or ethics of an issue. (Always skirt the issue).
It is only when the other party is concerned or fells threatened that he will listen. He will use loaded questions in order make them believe they are making their own decisions, he will steer them towards the answer he wants. He used their weakness as his strong point.
He is a master at manipulation. They always value his judgment above their own. The organizer knows that this is a human characteristic that someone who asks for help and gets it reacts not only with gratitude but with a subconscious hostility toward the one who helped him.
