Administration picks new contractor to lead HealthCare.gov.
The Obama administration has tapped a new contractor to run Healthcare.gov.
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced Saturday that it had tapped the consulting firm Accenture to take over maintenance of the site. The firm has agreed to a year-long contract worth at least $90 million, according to previous reports.
The new arrangement came just days after the administration decided to fire the original contractor, CGI Federal, over the botched rollout of the healthcare reform law’s web portal.
We have selected Accenture to become the lead contractor for the HealthCare.gov portal and to prepare for next year’s open enrollment period.”
